Sheer Fashion

I’ve been noticing more and more sheer fabrics lately around the neckline. At first, I wasn’t a fan, but now it’s growing on me. It’s a ladylike way to wear a more revealing top and still be somewhat covered up. Just think of it as sophisticated ice skater apparel without the glitter, sequins or hideous white boots.

bebe has a black on black dress that looks both sweet and scandalous (if that’s possible!)

Check out the back!

Isla Fisher wore a pretty green version by Stella McCartney with sheer white on top to contrast the green lace print:
Tracy Reese makes a few cute ones too:

And for a little more laid-back look, Urban Outfitters never fails:

Mix and Match Fashion

If the new fashions on the upcoming season of Gossip Girl are any indication, the rest of this year (at least) will be all about mixing and matching. Check out all the different looks here: brights mixed with brights, sporty mixed with dressy, brown and black together (it’s true!), multiple textures and much heavier necklaces. It takes just a little creativity and makes for a lot of fun.

Gossip Girl Headband Watch

Yes, I’m still watching Gossip Girl episodes! I can’t get enough of all the fun fashions, as much of a guilty pleasure it might be. My favorite was Blair’s retro cool look here. I want it all, but I especially love the dress and necklace combo. Classic but fresh.

Alberta Ferretti dress: similar style, $386; at
Siman Tu necklace: similar styles, starting at $650; at
Jennifer Behr headband: similar style, $182; at
Wolford stockings: similar style, $52; at

For a little more casual everyday look, I could definitely sport this Jennifer Behr headband. It’s a bit nautical but still pretty and feminine — the perfect style!

One Shirt 5 Ways!

Check out the latest post from the Willow girls here. They have five fabulous takes on how to wear this fun turquoise Alice + Olivia blouse. All it takes is a little creativity to stretch your wardrobe without ever looking anything less than super stylish.

Deja Vu is Online!

I’m so excited! Deja Vu is now up and running online! I LOVE this boutique and now I can scout out my favorite pieces on their website There’s even a little birdie that flies across the screen like the little ones that live in the store. So cute. You can tell spring is right around the corner and they just got in tons of bright new clothes. Also, when you click for the detail on any item, you get a little description with ideas of what to pair it with or where to wear it. Love it! Now go to Seaside and see for yourself.

Black + White + Chanel = True Love

It looks like Chanel’s spring 2009 couture show was filled with pretty frocks and stylish suits all in black, white or a mix of both. It’s very crisp, very classic and very covetable. If black is the new black (again), then just wait til the sun comes out a little more and white has its big moment. It’s only a matter of time! I can’t get enough of the black and white palette, so this collection just makes me giddy. Thanks, Karl!

Sweet Stuff @ Frock Candy

Frock Candy in Destin Commons has such cute stuff. It’s not terribly pricey but always has a lot of fun tops and dresses plus super-cool accessories. Going out and need a clutch? Done. Love long necklaces like I do and want to add to the collection? Done. Need a bright new dress just because? Done. The best part is you can stop in, shop on the fly and not worry too much about the damage later. After all, it’s just a little candy.

Black & White on Blair

It doesn’t get much better than Gossip Girl style and the episode last week featured queen bee Blair in a fabulous black and white coat. The only thing better? Pairing it with a bright red bag.
By the way, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Work is Fun (Or At Least Looks Good)

I’m not a big fan of doing household chores or paperwork and spend as little time in the kitchen as I possibly can. No one likes doing that un-fun stuff, right? At least with these cute folders and note pads from Knock Knock, making all the lists and staying somewhat organized will be fun even if actually doing the work isn’t.

These are from the new Luxe Apothetique in Destin Commons. They have lots of beauty goodies plus clothes like J Brand, Ella Moss, and William Rast. I wonder if they’re giving away any shopping sprees anytime soon!
