Another labor of love complete, y’all. I’m so excited to share the latest issue of the 30A Street Style e-zine with all of you. This is one of my favorite times of year, as we all get ready for the busy spring and summer seasons ahead. I worked so hard to try to capture that buzz and excitement through style. Take a look and read through the issue to fall in love with fresh fashion from 30A and beyond. I’d love to hear what you think!
I’m a happy, happy girl today! Have you ever experienced a magical moment of synergy? When something so impulsive and spur-of-the-moment becomes something amazing and exciting? It was an idea that popped up out of nowhere, “Hey, let’s make a magazine. Wouldn’t that be fun?” That’s essentially how the very first issue of 30A Street Style came about on a whim this summer. Sometimes recreating those totally awesome unplanned moments don’t always work and I’ve been trying to organize the follow up to what was an out-of-the-blue debut. We had so much positive feedback and enthusiasm that I didn’t want to put out a second e-zine unless it was as good or better than the first. What eventually came together is an issue that I truly love and am so proud of. It has fashion. It has real people. It has our gorgeous beaches. It has usable tips. And (I think) it has fun. At the very least, I had fun creating it. I was lucky enough to chat with the lovely Cassie Kelley of Womanista, the talented Mychael Knight of Project Runway, local blogger Sarah Powers of Closetini and put together plenty of fun fashion with my girl Caitlyn Ward. Please take a moment to check it out and let me know what you think. Click here to jump to the full e-zine.

More About Me
What a busy few days it’s been! Work has been so busy that we haven’t had a day off in two weeks. TWO WEEKS! Believe me when I say that I have some serious catching up to do in the R&R department.
On the bright side, our work isn’t so bad. We’ve been spending time with talented artists, shopping experts and a fabulous celebrity jewelry designer. It could definitely be worse!
For now, while I enjoy a full weekend of lazy days, sunshine and relaxation, I’ll share a little preview of our time hanging out with the lovely Erica Courtney. Erica is pretty much amazing and we loved talking jewels, celebs, style and even iPhone apps. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect iPhone case, so as soon as I saw her girly glam gold scroll cover, I had to know where she found it. (Sorry for the bad snapshot, it had been a long week.)
Erica said her assistant found this gem on Fab.com, but it must have sold out because I couldn’t find it anywhere on the site. After a few snazzy Google searches, I discovered the Pink Bird Boutique on Etsy
which appears to have the exact case. Even better? It’s only $14.98!
I asked Erica about the durability and she said she’s dropped her phone a few times with this case and it’s never cracked. That gets a stamp of approval in my book! Even if you can’t quite afford one of Erica’s Drop Dead Gorgeous pieces of jewelry
just yet, snagging her glam iPhone case is a step in the fabulous direction.

On a lazy weekend afternoon, I found myself watching Johnny Depp and the gorgeous Amber Heard in The Rum Diary. Have you seen it? Add it to your list. The simple yet glamorous coastal style throughout is mesmerizing and beautiful. The style cues include clean bright white, soft shell tones, vivid red lips, bronzed shoulders and perfectly coiffed hair — at the beach, no less! The outfits are drool-worthy and the makeup is perfection. Those red lips stuck in my head so long I couldn’t help but run right out and stock up on bold lip color. Watch it. You will, too.

So you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, the every day drama, the mundane and trade it in for a perfectly relaxing, salt-in-the-air, breeze-on-your-face, sun-on-your-skin, feet-in-the-sand kind of place? Our quiet little beach town has been frequented by one or two rock stars, country singers, politicians, world-renowned chefs and super star athletes. That’s right. We have our fair share of celebrity sightings on 30A.
Why? Because of this.
And the fact that locals leave them alone to relax and enjoy the scenery. Most people don’t do more than a double take when they realize they’re standing in line at Publix next to someone they just read about in a magazine or watched in Sunday’s big game. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a little excitement, but this place is full of people with amazing stories of success, fortune and achievement. The one thing almost everyone here has in common is that they’ve traded in a more fast-paced, corporate-type lifestyles (no more black suits, board meetings and HOV lanes) for a moment or longer to get back to the basics.
So what does someone who could go anywhere or do anything do here? Check out some of the celebrity sightings in South Walton (updated):
- Workout at Watercolor – Eli Manning, Laurie Hickson-Smith
- Watch the sun go down at Bud & Alley’s – Sean Payton, Jessica Simpson, Tony Romo, Kenny Chesney, James Carville
- Shop at Publix – Miley Cyrus, Emeril Lagasse
- Eat at Cafe Thirty-A – Eli Manning, Lance Armstrong

- YOLO board in the Gulf or coastal dune lake – Kellie Pickler, Ingo Rademacher

White sand, beautiful Gulf water, friendly people and living life pure and simple. That’s what it’s about in South Walton and on 30A, whether you’re here for a weekend or a lifetime, whether you’re famous or not. The lesson here: You don’t have to be a Super-Bowl-winning quarterback (or a rock star, movie star, etc) to enjoy a taste of sweet southern Gulf paradise. You just have to be in South Walton, living like the locals.
More About Me
I’m considering something a little different with my hair and keep coming back to ombre. What do you think? Still a thing or totally over? Is it a hair do or a hair don’t?

I’m not sure I could ever bring myself to do this to my hair, but perhaps cutting a few inches has given me a new wild streak. Even Lauren Conrad, who has become somewhat of a beauty icon known for classic, simple, girly styles, infused some crazy color into her blonde extensions (below left). It may only be temporary, but it looks like fun. What do you think? Would you ever do it?

Long hair is like my security blanket and outside of my toddler years of growing it out, I think I’ve only ever cut my hair near my shoulders once. I wore it curly almost all the time back then and needless to say, the look wasn’t a hit. I had a lot to learn about styling and fighting frizz and the poodle look just didn’t suit. Now that Emery is here and I’m learning (at lightning speed) that selfish time in front of a mirror really isn’t realistic, I feel like a cut might be a solution. Less hair = less time spent on hair, right?
I just came across this spread on the lob (long bob) and am actually considering it. Who doesn’t want Jennifer Aniston hair? I love the texture of January Jones’. Maybe even a slightly longer version. Would that be a long lob? I can possibly, potentially, maybe, somewhat see my hair like this. So … to lob or not to lob? That is the question.
When it comes to the beauty side of weddings, there’s no better place to find inspiration and up-to-date styles than on the red carpet. Celebrities have access to the best hair and makeup artists who prime and primp pretty faces and fabulous hair practically every day for big events — maybe not weddings, but movie premieres and awards shows require the best of beauty. (Wouldn’t you love to have a celeb stylist make you over just once? I would!)
Since the temperature will be near 100 degrees and the girls will be wearing shorter bridesmaid dresses, I want to keep the look casually elegant with relaxed styles and not much fuss. Nothing too tight or slicked back. I like hairstyles that seem effortless and easy, but still look styled and in place — beachy but under control. I think I’ll be wearing my hair half up, half down with a few curls along the lines of one these lovely hairstyles:
No offense to Deb, but I think Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Lauren Conrad, Miley Cyrus, Molly Sims, Brittany Snow, Angelina Jolie and Carrie Underwood have the right ideas. Just lovely!
