Breakfast with the Aesthetic Clinique

Take a little time out for some fun with the girls this weekend at the Aesthetic Clinique in Rosemary Beach. From 9-10 AM Saturday, there will be a breakfast of coffee, oj, fruit, and pastries with giveaways including BOTOX, Restylane, and other skincare goodies plus quality time with the girlfriends!

The Rosemary Beach Office is located on the 2nd floor of the Savannah Building (enter between Willow and Sugar Shak). See you there!

Redfish Village After Hours

This month’s Walton Area Chamber After Hours was at Redfish Village and even though it was a cold night, there was a nice crowd there to network, sip wine and check out the Village. Aside from the main tent set up on the lawn, there were 3 condos open for viewing with wine sampling in each. The Village Boutique and The Aesthetic Clinique had their doors open late as well. I met a few new folks, caught up with some old friends and loved every bit of the decor I saw. The interior design was all done by Lovelace Interiors and every detail was impeccable. I wanted to borrow quite a few of their ideas, but this was by far my favorite room. It’s the perfect combination of upbeat and peaceful, don’t you think?

The Place To Be

It’s official. This is where the cool kids go. Southern Living’s January issue includes their Reader’s Choice Poll for favorites of all things southern, including one of the most important categories — the Best Beach. Destin and the Emerald Coast made it on the list with the #1 and #4 spots as the best place to relax on the sand, soak up the sun and get a great tan. Check it out!

Best Beach Destination
1. Destin, Florida
2. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
3. Gulf Shores/Orange Beach (pictured), Alabama
4. Panama City Beach, Florida
5. Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
6. Pensacola, Florida
7. Sanibel Island, Florida
8. Outer Banks, North Carolina
9. Virginia Beach, Virginia
10. Isle of Palms, South Carolina

Destin is also #3 for Best Family Destination and #9 for Best Southern City. It’s good to be a beach bum!

Happy New Year!

It’s 2009!! Happy New Year!!! Our New Year’s Eve celebrations were so much fun, but made for a very late night. There are a few movies I’ve been waiting to see and haven’t had time to squeeze them in. I think today might be perfect for doing a double feature! I wanna see Marley & Me (like every other dog owner) and either Benjamin Button or 7 Pounds for movie #2. I’ve heard mixed reviews about both of those. We usually do our movie watching at the Grand in Pier Park since it’s a little closer to our part of 30A, but I think we might make it over to the Rave in Destin for our first movie in 2009!

Holiday Style – Alys Beach

I love driving around the beach looking at Christmas lights and decorations — it’s one of the best parts of the holidays! This house in Alys Beach is so perfectly wrapped with its bright red bow, you can’t help but stop and admire it.

Studded Bangles & More at SOHO

SOHO boutique is having some great sales right now at their store in Gulf Place (393 & 30A)! They have tons of Juicy stuff (as always) but a bunch of really cute tops and dresses to add to your wish list. In the contemporary store, they carry lines like Michael Stars, C&C California, True Religion, 7 for all Mankind, Hype, Free People, Yag and lots, lots more! I saw several great pieces of jewelry (like these bangles) and a cool leather clutch with studs on the outside. I picked up a superthin, supercool tee by Yag for less than 30 bucks.
The SOHO website shows a few available items but you have to go in person or phone in an order to one of their locations to get the goods. They have 3 stores in Houston, but their one and only beach store is right here in Santa Rosa Beach!

Funky Blue

I stopped by The Blue Giraffe in Blue Mountain Beach yesterday after hearing about their new location in Watercolor and great things about their eclectic collections of jewelry, art, and home décor and found myself wanting to take home one of everything! Well, almost. This fun little shop is overflowing with beachy finds, and while that isn’t really my style I still found myself coveting quite a few items—I’m already planning on returning for a pair of chic black and white pillar holders and a fabulous glass wine stopper I plan to put to good use on a great bottle of pinot grigio…

Wake Up with PJ’s

PJ’s in Redfish Village is fast becoming part of my daily routine for leaving zombie mode behind in the morning. I’m a big fan of frozen coffees and their Velvet Ices are ridiculously good. They have freshly blended Mocha, Vanilla or Chai, so I like to rotate a different one every time for a little variety. Try a medium for $3.60.
As if the logo didn’t give it away, PJ’s also does delicious smoothies (via Planet Smoothie) and has more choices than you can imagine. The first Wednesday in September is 99 Cents Smoothie Day with the delicious Screamsicle™ (pineapple, peaches, orange juice, sherbet & anti-oxidant blast™) for only a dollar.
It’s hard to beat PJ’s for a jumpstart to another great day at the beach.
Mmmm…
